Experience Requirements

4 years of qualifying experience with degree; 10 years without degree (highest in nation)

Louisiana Also Requires: Louisiana State-Specific Exam

Louisiana requires a state-specific exam covering Louisiana surveying laws (RS 37:681 et seq.), minimum standards, and French colonial survey systems unique to Louisiana.

How to Apply

  1. 1Verify you meet Louisiana's experience requirements through the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board.
  2. 2Gather work experience documentation and professional references.
  3. 3Submit your application to the Louisiana state board (not directly to NCEES).
  4. 4Once approved by the state board, receive authorization from NCEES.
  5. 5Register and pay through your MyNCEES account ($375 exam fee).
  6. 6Schedule your exam at a Pearson VUE test center.
