4 years of qualifying experience with degree; 6 years without degree

South Carolina Also Requires: South Carolina State-Specific Exam

South Carolina requires a state-specific exam covering South Carolina surveying laws (SC Code Title 40, Chapter 22) and minimum technical standards.

How to Apply

  1. 1Verify you meet South Carolina's experience requirements through the South Carolina Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
  2. 2Gather work experience documentation and professional references.
  3. 3Submit your application to the South Carolina state board (not directly to NCEES).
  4. 4Once approved by the state board, receive authorization from NCEES.
  5. 5Register and pay through your MyNCEES account ($375 exam fee).
  6. 6Schedule your exam at a Pearson VUE test center.
