4 years of progressive surveying experience under a licensed PLS with qualifying degree; up to 6 years without degree
Alabama Also Requires: Alabama State-Specific Exam
Alabama requires a state-specific exam covering Alabama surveying laws (Code of Alabama Title 34, Chapter 11), rules, and minimum standards for surveying.
How to Apply
- 1Verify you meet Alabama's experience requirements through the Alabama Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
- 2Gather work experience documentation and professional references.
- 3Submit your application to the Alabama state board (not directly to NCEES).
- 4Once approved by the state board, receive authorization from NCEES.
- 5Register and pay through your MyNCEES account ($375 exam fee).
- 6Schedule your exam at a Pearson VUE test center.
