Experience Requirements
4 years of qualifying experience under a licensed surveyor with ABET degree (3 years); 6 years without degree
Florida Also Requires: Florida State-Specific Exam
Florida requires a state-specific exam covering Florida Statutes Chapter 472, administrative rules (Chapter 5J-17, FAC), and minimum technical standards for land surveying.
How to Apply
- 1Verify you meet Florida's experience requirements through the Florida Board of Professional Surveyors and Mappers.
- 2Gather work experience documentation and professional references.
- 3Submit your application to the Florida state board (not directly to NCEES).
- 4Once approved by the state board, receive authorization from NCEES.
- 5Register and pay through your MyNCEES account ($375 exam fee).
- 6Schedule your exam at a Pearson VUE test center.

24 PDH per biennial renewal, including Florida laws and rules
