Experience Requirements

4 years of qualifying experience under a licensed surveyor with ABET degree (3 years); 6 years without degree

Florida Also Requires: Florida State-Specific Exam

Florida requires a state-specific exam covering Florida Statutes Chapter 472, administrative rules (Chapter 5J-17, FAC), and minimum technical standards for land surveying.

How to Apply

  1. 1Verify you meet Florida's experience requirements through the Florida Board of Professional Surveyors and Mappers.
  2. 2Gather work experience documentation and professional references.
  3. 3Submit your application to the Florida state board (not directly to NCEES).
  4. 4Once approved by the state board, receive authorization from NCEES.
  5. 5Register and pay through your MyNCEES account ($375 exam fee).
  6. 6Schedule your exam at a Pearson VUE test center.
