Orange County

Subdivision Ordinance

Tentative parcel maps: Title 7 (Land Use and Building Regulations), Division 9 (Planning), Article 3 (The Subdivision Code), Subarticle 3 (Types of Maps Permitted), §§ 7-9-230 through 7-9-236 — 'Tentative Parcel Map'

Submittal checklist →

Confirmed via Municode search result snippet quoting §7-9-232 ('Tentative parcel maps are made for a purpose to show design and improvements...') and §7-9-245 ('Filing'); direct WebFetch of the Municode node returned HTTP 403 (bot-blocked), so the section citation is corroborated only through the Municode search-index snippet plus the county's own Subdivision Manual (https://pwds.oc.gov/sites/ocpwocds/files/2021-06/SubdivisionManual.pdf, 92pp) which references the same Title 7 Subdivision Code structure. Checklist PDF is OC Development Services' 'Tentative Parcel Map Application Package' (redirects from ocds.ocpublicworks.com to pwds.oc.gov).

Tentative map review fee: $1,421.00 deposit (T&M) for Review of County Tentative Map (Fee Code 5136); parcel map complete-check deposit after approval remains $3,451.00 base + $406/parcel (Fee Code 5139) source · verified 2026-07

Re-verified 2026-07-08: the July 1, 2022 Mapping Deposit/Fee Schedule is STILL the governing schedule — it is the '2022-23 Fee Schedule (Updated: 1-07-2025)' currently linked from OC Public Works' live Map Checking and Annexations page (pwds.oc.gov/service-areas/oc-development-services/oc-survey-map-checks-right-way/map-checking-and-annexations); PDF downloaded and pdftotext-confirmed ($1,421.00 Deposit (T&M), Fee Code 5136). IMPORTANT: a new Map Checking Fee Schedule (updating all Resolution 21-048 categories) went to the Board of Supervisors on June 23, 2026 with a stated effective date of September 1, 2026 (public notice ASR 26-001121 at pwds.oc.gov) — the new amounts were not published in the notice, so re-check this fee after 2026-09-01.

Recording fee: $8.00 for filing of maps (subdivisions, parcels, surveys, assessments) + $2.00 each additional page (per OC Clerk-Recorder fee schedule); separately, standard document recording is $12.00 first page + $3.00 each additional page source · verified 2026-01

Two corroborating figures on the same live PDF (effective 2026-01): the 'Filing of maps' miscellaneous-fee line ($8.00 + $2.00/page) and the general recording fee schedule. The Map Check Deposit schedule (2022) separately lists Clerk-Recorder recording fees for Record of Survey/Amending Maps at $6.00 first sheet + $2.00/additional sheet, which differs slightly — the 2026 Clerk-Recorder schedule supersedes and is the authoritative current figure.

City of Anaheim

Subdivision Ordinance

Tentative parcel maps: Anaheim Municipal Code Title 17 (Subdivisions), Chapter 17.08 (Tentative Maps) and Chapter 17.09 (Final Maps); §17.08.045 'Tentative Map Defined'

Submittal checklist →

Direct WebFetch of the amlegal.com code section returned HTTP 403 (bot-blocked); citation corroborated via the city's own PDF, 'Final Tract Map and Final Parcel Map Procedures' (https://www.anaheim.net/DocumentCenter/View/17584/...), which states verbatim: 'Tract maps and parcel maps are processed in accordance with Chapters 17.08 and 17.09 of the Anaheim Municipal Code.' No standalone TPM-specific checklist PDF was found; the citywide 'Development Application' packet (item #17: 'Tentative Tract or Parcel Map — See Appendix') serves as the operative submittal checklist for tentative parcel maps.

Tentative map review fee: $213/hr time-and-materials, Minimum Initial Deposit $6,228, Minimum Balance $1,638 (Tentative Parcel Map) source · verified 2026-07

Re-verified 2026-07-08 by downloading the live PDF and extracting text: schedule header still reads 'Effective August 2025' (document code Z677), line item 'Tentative Parcel Map $213 /hr $6,228 $1,638'. No newer Anaheim Planning fee schedule has been published; the August 2025 schedule remains current, figures unchanged.

Recording fee: Same as Orange County recording fee — Anaheim does not record maps itself; final maps are submitted by the developer's title company to the County for approval and recordation (see county.recordingFee above) source · verified 2026-07

Confirmed by the city's Subdivision Section procedures document, Section IX(C) 'County Approval and Map Recordation': 'the Subdivision Section will call the developer's Title Company to pick up the map and any other agreements or covenants. The title company shall submit the map to the County for approval and recordation.' Final tract/parcel maps also require full technical review by the Orange County Surveyor's Office regardless of city processing.
