Ventura County
Tentative parcel maps: Ventura County Subdivision Ordinance (Div. 8, Ch. 2 of County Code), Article 5 "Tentative Maps," Sec. 8205-0 through 8205-7 — specifically Sec. 8205-1 "Subdivisions Requiring Tentative and Parcel Maps" and Sec. 8205-2 "Submission of Tentative Maps." Also cross-referenced in Article 15, Sec. 8215-2.3 "Decisions on Tentative Parcel Maps." Confirmed live via Municode at https://library.municode.com/ca/ventura_county/codes/code_of_ordinances?nodeId=DIV8PLDE_CH2SU_ART6FIPAMARE_8206-1SUCE (Article 6 covers Final/Parcel Map Requirements; Article 5 is the Tentative Map article).
Submittal checklist →Second checklist also published: https://rmadocs.venturacounty.gov/planning/forms/planning-tract-and-parcel-map-materials-checklist.pdf (materials/copies checklist, distinct from the plan-content checklist). County notes their own PDF ordinance/Municode copies are 'periodically updated' and may lag the true current ordinance — Planning Division (805-654-2488, Plan.Counter@venturacounty.gov) is authoritative for current text.
Primary figure ($2,000 deposit, line item 'Tentative Parcel Map') verified live in the Planning Division Fee Schedule PDF (Attachment 1, Schedule B; revised 2026-05-19, effective 2026-07-18) at rmadocs.venturacounty.gov/planning/fees/publications/planning-division-fee-schedule.pdf. Second, distinct fee corroborated from the Public Works Agency Fee Schedule PDF (rmadocs.venturacounty.gov/images/pdf/planning/fees/PWA_Fees.pdf): 'Parcel Map (Non CC of C) (SD) - $2,750.00 fee deposit - To review the Tentative Map for CEQA conditions only.' These are two different divisions' deposits for the same TPM application (cost-recovery/actual-time billing system), not two sources for the identical number — noting explicitly since they should not be conflated as double-verification of one figure. Both deposits are billed against actual staff time (cost recovery), so final cost varies.
Verified directly in the Ventura County Clerk-Recorder Fee Schedule PDF (CCR GEN 03 REV 01/01/2026, effective 2026-01-01), Section 6 'Miscellaneous Fees,' line 'Recording, filing, and indexing maps ... $6.00 / Each additional page ... $2.00'. Only single-sourced — could not find a second independent corroborating document restating this specific map-recording line item (most third-party 'Ventura recording fee' pages only quote the generic $14/$3 document fee, which is a different fee category).
City of Oxnard
Tentative parcel maps: Oxnard City Code, Chapter 15 (Subdivisions), Sec. 15-11 'Tentative Parcel Maps and Parcel Maps Required; Exemptions; Waivers' and Sec. 15-17 'Tentative Parcel Maps and Parcel Maps; Owner's Statement' (vesting tentative maps at Sec. 15-19). Hosted live on American Legal Publishing's codelibrary.
Submittal checklist →The 'Quick Guide to Subdivision Mapping Processes' (Feb 2025) is a step-by-step procedural guide covering Tentative/Final Maps, Parcel Map Waivers, and Lot Line Adjustments, including which division (Planning vs. Engineering) collects which fee at each stage; it functions as the closest thing to a submittal checklist and was verified by direct PDF text extraction.
Verified by direct PDF text extraction of the Planning & Environmental Services Division Fee Schedule (effective 2018-09-24, still the live posted schedule as of 2026-07). Line items: 'Tentative Map ... $8,400.00 ... Deposit' and 'Additional Eng - TM/TP Map (per map/$145.00 per lot) ... $1,848.00 ... Fixed Fee'. Single-sourced — a second candidate document (b100-Fees-Charged-to-Dev PDF) 404'd on fetch, so this figure has not been independently corroborated by a second document; flagging per verification standard.
Oxnard's own fee schedule lists a 'Final Map (FM)' review fixed fee of $1,254.75 plus an additional Engineering deposit ($50/lot) — that is Oxnard's internal map-check fee, not a recording fee. Actual recordation of the map instrument happens at the County Recorder's office per California Government Code, using the county fee schedule cited above.
